The Rev. Dr. Dean Taylor writes, “It seems like Jesus would have pointed during one of His outdoor teaching sessions and said, ‘Behold, the butterfly…’ and used it to illustrate some profound truth.” But, he didn’t. “Butterfly” isn’t actually mentioned in the Bible … or is it? The metamorphosis (Greek) translated as transformation is in the New Testament as describing the change and growth of Christians.
But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. —2 Corinthians 3:16-18
