The lamp, providing necessary light to those willing and wanting to see, is mentioned throughout the Bible, Old and New Testaments, from the lamps of the tabernacle prescribed in Leviticus, to the lampstands described in the Revelation to John. We sing of light, as well as of not hiding it; and, read of the lamp preparation for the Temple, and of the bridesmaids. Keep your lamp filled, your wicks trimmed, and don’t put your lamp under a bushel!
