This panel depicts the blessing hand toward radiating ribbons – pronouncing the Trinitarian blessing to those radiating the Word of God to the World. Christian art throughout the ages uses the three-fingers-up and two-down to depict the Trinity (the three upward fingers: thumb, index, and middle) and the two downward or folded fingers (ring and pinky) to denote the duality of Christ’s nature.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. —Numbers 6:24-26
