Scammers Are At It Again!!
We received word in the church office that there is a fake text message going out to the congregation purporting to be from Rev. Dedrick Minor. It is requesting help with "something a bit sensitive and truly value your guidance and discretion." It is signed "Blessings, Rev. Dedrick Minor"
This is NOT from Rev. Dedrick. Please do not respond or contact the phone number of the text as it is NOT our Rev. Dedrick.
If you receive these texts and have any questions about the validity of them, you can always contact the church office to verify if this is a legitimate communication.
In the past many of you have also received emails purporting to be from Rev. Dedrick asking for help in purchasing gift cards and a variety of reasons are given for the purchases. ALL financial transactions and purchases for any type of outreach/assistance are handled by the office bookkeeper. Rev. Dedrick will NEVER ask anyone to purchase such items for him. Nor would any staff member make such requests.
Please be on the lookout for possible fraudulent communications -- there are a lot of unsavory characters out there who are looking for a kind-hearted, Christian person to respond.
