Thank you, Village Woods Community!
Ann Baskin and her neighbors in Village Woods decided to trick-or-treat for canned vegetables on Halloween, to benefit our current needs at Southeast Ministries! Here are some photos of the collection from Village Woods and at FCC being transported and checked-in at Southeast Ministries last week. Thank you to all who contributed!

Advent Devotionals now available
|
|
Advent’s scripture passages call us to imagine a new world, one free from fear, not one based on a “return to normal.” In this new daily devotional for Advent, Terri Hord Owens, General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), delves into Advent lectionary texts to reflect on God’s vision for the world and how we might find the courage to imagine, the permission to change, and the freedom to fear no more. A prayer round outs each daily devotion.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be transitioning away from Constant Contact to an in-house mass email system that will keep subscription information in our private database and afford us better ability to assist with email receipt issues - at no additional cost to our current web site hosting fee.
However, as with any mass-email system, there are sure to be some hiccoughs, particularly as your email system may not initially recognize our new server. Here are some hints that may aid with receipt on your end:
- Put churchoffice@fccbrla.org in your email address book so that your email client knows you want to hear from us.
-
Gmail users should check their "updates" or "promo" folders and mark our emails "inbox" to train Gmail where you want them.
-
Cox subscribers should check that mail marked spam is not deleted at Cox's server, but put into a spam/junk folder. You may be surprised to see what Cox marks as spam that you would not see at all if it's deleted at their server.
Don't hesitate to contact us if you believe you're missing emails, your address has changed, or you have a preferred address for our emails, etc. We'll do all we can to help, and believe our new system will give us even more options to be successful.
