Changes: Outdoor Reception in Minimalist Style
This Sunday, August 8, immediately following the 10 am service
Neither rain, nor heat, nor COVID can keep us from, at least, having a few minutes to extend our love and thanks to Rev. Dr. David Chisham for his eight years of generous and heartfelt shepherding of this congregation, on his last Sunday at FCCBRLA before he and his family head to Midland, Texas.
So, we ask for your assistance and cooperation in changing our brunch to a period of outdoor lingering, with a spaced reception line for those who would like to extend their personal greetings to David, Kori, and Layne.
If you have an outdoor canopy we may borrow to erect in the courtyard for additional protection from sun, or in the chance of rain, please contact the church office or 225-926-4175, before 3 pm on Thursday, or contact Vicki Krupala or 225-328-2461.
We ask that you DO NOT BRING ANY BRUNCH FOOD ITEMS TO SHARE, and the church will provide iced bottled water, outdoors.
Please contact Vicki Krupala or 225-328-2461 to offer assistance with set-up on Saturday, August 7.
Choir Rehearsal this evening, Wednesday, August 4, has been cancelled.

This Sunday at First Christian Church
On this, our last Sunday with the Rev. Dr. David Chisham, he concludes his focus on Paul's letter to the church in Ephesus, leading us to live in love, as Christ loved us.
Our Sunday worship is at 10:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary - and livestreamed to our website, Facebook, and YouTube channel. We hope to "see" you there! Check in, and follow the service bulletin, here.
The Governor's mandate of August 2 requires all persons, regardless of vaccination or immunity status, to wear masks indoors unless they are able to strictly follow a six-foot social distancing minimum. This means, please, that you should wear your mask at least until you are seated in the church within your family group, and keeping six feet or more from other households at all times.
Anyone exhibiting any symptoms, concerned about any exposure, or with other considerations that may make them more vulnerable to the effects of this disease should, please, stay home and join us online, instead! To join services online, click one of the buttons below for your favorite platform:

Disciples Virtual Gathering this Saturday
“Why is it important to be together? Well, in Hebrews 10:24 and 25, the writer of Hebrews reminds us that we need to encourage one another, not just to love but to action, to do, to not only imagine together but to help actually bring to fruition God’s reign and fulfillment on the earth.” – Rev. Terri Hord Owens
Registration is now open for a day of workshops, Bible lectures, an exhibit hall, and peer chats. Please do not let the cost ($25) prevent you from joining, but select "Special Registration" at the bottom of the page.
