Scam Texts & Emails

We've received information from several of our church families that they received a text, supposedly from Rev. Dedrick, requesting help with something but can't talk because he's in a meeting. If the recipient responds, the sender then asks them to purchase gift cards for cancer patients or church families needing assistance or some other reason requiring the purchase of gift cards.

These are not from Rev. Dedrick. Assistance needs are never handled in such a manner. The scammers are sending these out to congregations throughout the country in the hopes of someone responding. Please do not respond to any of these types of texts and/or emails.
