Scammers Are Reaching Out Again

We received word from a church member that scammers are again contacting the congregation via text messages claiming to be Rev. Dedrick Minor. Sometimes they use the name "DJ Minor." They are asking individuals to purchase gift cards and then send "Rev. Dedrick" the numbers on the cards.

These types of messages -- texts and/or emails -- purporting to be from Rev. Dedrick requesting the congregation to purchase anything for him are NOT from him. These communications are from scammers trying to take advantage of our congregation. Please do not respond to these types of requests.

Rev. Dedrick has not and would not request the congregation to purchase gift cards for him. All monetary requests -- including gift cards -- are handled in the church office by the Finance Committee and/or the bookkeeper.
