Worship Services at FCC
8:30 A.M. - Traditional But Informal
Clothing is casual at this service. Our ministers do not wear their clerical robes and will preach from the floor. There is a time of open sharing of joys and concerns before prayer. An offering plate is stationed at the back of the sanctuary. Communion is served weekly by intinction (dipping bread into a chalice) after we gather around the chancel with one another. First time visitors receive a gift from FCC. This service lasts an hour and generally worships between 50 and 70 people.
Please see our note about children worshipping with us below.
10:50 A.M. - Traditional
At this service, our chancel choir sings, an acolyte processes, and the ministers, choir and acolyte are in robes. We also offer a children's moment. Communion is served weekly and served through the pews by deacons. An offering is collected by the deacons, as well. First time visitors receive a gift from FCC. This service lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes and generally worships between 120 - 170 people.
Please see our note about children worshipping with us below.
6:10 P.M. - Contemporary
Based on Romans 6:10 which states "The life we live we live for God", our '610' worship service is a participatory experience with a live band and uplifting music. A spiritually-based message and communion by intinction are an integral part of this worship service. This service currently worships around 50 people. Come in casual attire and enjoy this upbeat worship with us. The nursery for infants and children through age 6 is available. If parents would like their children to stay with them during the service, we also offer Children's Worship Notebooks for ages 3+.
This service is offered every week that our Sunday Night Youth Groups (SNYG) meet. Currently 610 is not meeting. We will begin meeting for worship again on January 17th. In the mean-time, we hope to see you at one of our earlier Sunday services!
Worship With Children
Children and young people are ALWAYS welcome in worship at FCC. For those children and youth wanting to stay with their parent(s), worship notebooks for use during the services are located in the narthex. Worship notebooks use activities to engage the children in the Sunday's lesson and theme. Worship Notebooks are available for children 3-6 and 7+.
You may also choose to take your children to our excellent nursery. Our nursery staff provies childcare for all three Sunday services, and during the 9:30 hour. The nursery is available for infants and children up to six years. Click here for more information about our nursery.
A children's message is offered during the 10:50 a.m. service. Children can stay with their parents until the children's message and then go to the nursery, or be dropped off at the nursery prior to the service. The nursery staff will then bring them into worship for the children's message, and return with them to the nursery following the message.
In the Fall of 2010 we will be offering a new Children's Worship and Wonder program during the 10:50 a.m. service for children ages 3 through 3rd grade. Please click here for more information about Children's Worship and Wonder.
