Sunday Night Youth Groups

Sunday Night Youth Groups (or SNYG) has been one of the largest and most successful programs at First Christian Church.  SNYG is a dynamic and exciting program that is built on First Christian's belief that children and youth ministry are paramount to the mission of the church.  We are commited to provide a safe and holy environment for youth to grow in their faith, to develop their own sense of belief, and to be nurtured by their youth leaders into lifelong disciples of Christ.

We meet on Sunday afternoons during the school year from 4:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. followed by our contemporary worship at 6:10 P.M.  The youth are divided into four Youth Groups based on their age.  The Youth Groups are as follows:

Kids Youth Fellowship (KYF)             - Ages 4 - Grade 1
Junior Youth Fellowship (JYF)          - Grades 2 - 4
Chi-Rho (XP)                                 - Grades 5 - 8
Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF)    - Grades 9 - 12

All the youth begin SNYG by playing games and sharing a meal together.  Then the groups separate and the youth leaders engage their particular group with a thoughtful lesson or activity.  We then bring everyone together and close each SNYG with our 6:10 p.m. worship service.  Each week a different group from SNYG is invited to participate in leading our 610 worship.

We believe very strongly in this model of youth ministry based entirely on relationships.  By building Christian relationships amongst the youth and between the youth and their youth leaders, we have witnessed dozens of youth grow in their walk of faith and develop into Christian leaders in their own right.
